By being on of the sponsors of The Fair, NIVREL presented the latest watch models from the Pièce Unique series. NIVREL China is managed by the Wiselink cooperation and was presented in strong cooperation with NIVREL’s ambassador – the Parisian artist Thomas Diego Armonia – who was an invited V.I.P. guest of The Fair.

One of the highlights at the NIVREL stand was a public portrait drawing of Mrs. Yue-Sai Kan. Yue-Sai Kan is a Chinese American, whose life straddles the East and West as a best-selling author, Emmy-winning television producer, entrepreneur and humanitarian. In 1986, the television series “One World” produced and hosted by Yue-Sai Kan aired on China’s national television network CCTV, giving millions of Chinese the first glimpse of the outside world and made her a household name in China. In 1992, she successfully transformed herself from a TV personality to an entrepreneur by creating the Yue-Sai cosmetics brand which is recognized by over 90% of the Chinese population today.

  

Thomas Diego Armonia sketched her portrait live onto a canvas at the NIVREL stand. The oil on canvas portrait will be finished by Thomas Diego Armonia in his studio in Paris. The NIVREL china team will donate the oil painting in combination with a NIVREL 5-minute repeater watch, showing the portrait on a hand-painted dial Thomas Diego Armonia himself. The watch will be another unique piece of the ‘Thomas Diego Armonia signature series’ by NIVREL.

  

The watches from the series are a special version of NIVREL’s 5-minute repeater. It features an automatic movement caliber ETA 2892-A2. On top of the movement, NIVREL installs a 5-minute-repeater module in fine finishing (Côtes de Genève). The rotor of the automatic movement is hand-scelettonized, hand-engraved and features the unique number of every watch. From a functional point of view, NIVREL’s 5-minute-repeater indicates hours and minutes. By pushing the button at 6 o'clock, the repeater module indicates every past hour by a bell strike, every past 5-minute step by a double strike.

The case of the watch is made from finest 316L stainless steel in the basic version. The more ambitious versions are made from 18 ct. rose gold or 18 ct. palladium/whitegold. Every case is closed by a domed sapphire crystal on top, and a screwed case back with sapphire crystal on the bottom. It is water-resistant to 5 bar. The case bottom features the engraved signature of the artist.
